This Conference will explore several new developments in investment policies: (i) the increasing inclusion of state-to-state dispute settlement (SSDS) in investment treaties as the sole method for binding resolution of investment disputes, including the rationale and policy issues involved in this approach; (ii) expanding efforts to facilitate investment, based on investment agreements, including concrete experiences with implementation; and (iii) renewed interest in contracts relating to investment and their interaction with investment treaties.
